Three ferries on Sunday, Feb. 23 filled with bikes heading to the 42nd annual Chilly Hilly Ride on Bainbridge Island!
Starting at 7 a.m. this Sunday, thousands of pedal-powered road warriors will head for the (Bainbridge Island) hills, and we’re clearing the vehicle decks to make room for them.
Most of the vehicle spots will be “spoke’n” for Sunday morning
To make way for the bicyclists, our deck hands will limit the number of vehicles allowed on the following sailings: 7:55 a.m., 8:45 a.m., 9:35 a.m. and 10:35 a.m.
- Heading to Bainbridge before noon? Go here to see which sailing has room for your four-wheeled friend.
The boomerang effect
Keep in mind,
those thousands of cyclists that left from Colman Dock Sunday morning, will
return to Seattle Sunday afternoon.
Be the smarty-pants of the bunch by going here for a list of approximate vehicles spaces available on
the next ferry.
Let the cycling season begin!
Although we
welcome bikes all year round, the last Sunday in February (aka the annual
Chilly Hilly Ride) marks our unofficial kick off to bicycling season.
Did you
know we see north of 300,000 cyclists on our routes every year? It’s true.
Here’s some more information about bicycles
on Washington State Ferries.
On four wheels or two, we’re here for
you
We’re always
on the lookout to make it easier for cyclists and motorists to use the ferries. Please send your suggestions, comments and questions to our customer service team.
Thanks, all!
